Aim The combination of iron deficiency and anaemia is a major health problem, adolescents are an at-risk group. main aim this study was to explore the magnitude these conditions among aged 15–19 identify possible associated risk factors. Methods This population-based longitudinal in North Norway conducted 2010–2011, with follow-up two years later. Repeated measurements its factors were studied 309 girls 273 boys. Results Iron found 18.1% 19.9% 1.6% 2.9% boys first about half cases chronic Most had moderate (14.5%) mild (16.0%). Daily milk consumption increased (odds ratio 2.3, 95% confidence interval 1.1–4.9), most physically active lowest levels 0.4, intervaI 0.2–0.9). important factor for girls.
